Jody Lee Lipes is a filmmaker whose directing credits include: HBO's Girls, Season 1; NY Export: Opus Jazz, a scripted adaptation of a Jerome Robbins' ballet that won a South by Southwest Audience Award and aired on PBS; and verite documentary Brock Enright: Good Times Will Never Be The Same, which documents an emerging artist's solo exhibition at a prominent New York City gallery.

Jody is also an Independent Spirit Award nominated director of photography, chosen for Variety's 10 Cinematographers To Watch 2011. DoP credits include Martha Marcy May Marlene, Tiny Furniture, and Afterschool.

Sundance Lab supported Confederacy, Jody's first feature length screenplay, is a pre-civil war drama following one man's journey into the religious society of Shakers.
